Over 4 months into the trip and (as Niki has reminded me) we haven’t really done any “beach time”.
Generally I am not a beach person, preferring instead to head off and explore the country. That said Nha Trang on the Vietnamese coast only really has one attraction if you don’t count people watching the lobster red Russian tourists (which I think deserves a half page ‘box out’ in the next edition of the Lonely Planet).
After a long day on the train yesterday and a week of being generally busy in Cambodia and Saigon I think the glorious sea, sand and sun arrived at the perfect time. I surprised myself how a sunlounger, music, and cold drinks could while away the hours without boredom creeping and we made the most of it as we are now heading North we may soon be saying goodbye to the baking sun and clear skies that we have come to take for granted.
